On Monday my daughter turned 4 years old. It was a really emotional day for me because my baby is growing so fast and I’m afraid to blink in case I miss something and next time I look she’s 18!
Monday morning, we woke DD up by letting George into her room. The little rascal jumped onto her bed and meowed her awake! Once she realised it was her birthday she ran into the living room where we’d decorated for the occasion.
of course we had to observe tradition and have birthday cake for breakfast. This is my favourite picture from the day.
For the rest of the week we finished tiling the deck and generally prepared for the party.
Party’s this way!
And this is the birthday cake. It didn’t turn out quite the way I planned. The fondant icing is the devil’s own stuff to work with and I will not be using the blasted stuff again!
We took loads of pictures but of course can’t show other people’s children without their permission so I’m limited as to what pics I can put on my blog. Nanny and DD enjoyed themselves on the trampoline though whilst others play on the swing set and others still played in the play house.
The birthday cake made my daughter squeal in delight. She assured me it was the best cake ever at the best birthday party ever. I was a little tearful at that remark.
and of course she was spoiled rotten with lovely gifts from friends and family. Her dress was made by Meemaw Robertson and sent from South Africa just for the occasion. Of course I had to get her a Sofia inspired amulet to match her pretty royal dress. She also wore the engrabved brooch from her godparents and the bracelet I bought her for her first birthday.
