12 weeks of Christmas – covered baubles

So my BFF came over and after lots of chatting and me sobbing I finally landed up feeling better.  Then we went over to her house and took some pictures of the Christmassy bits I’ve been working on.  Here’s my favourite of the lot.

Aren’t these covered baubles cute?  I can’t wait to see them on the tree.  They’re super easy to make and a really good way of jazzing up old tired looking baubles without breaking the bank. Here’s what you’ll need to make them:

Pinking shears
Wire edged ribbon
Jingle bell
Elastic band

Using a large dinner plate draw a circle on the wrong side of your fabric with taylors chalk and cut out with pinking shears.

Place the bauble into the centre of the fabric with the section for hanging the bauble facing up.  Gather up the fabric so it fits around the bauble and tied with an elastic band.

Next slide the elastic band up a bit and wrap your wire ribbon around the top of the  bauble around the top of the fabric closest to the bauble.  Pull really tight and tie – don’t make a bow yet.  Remove the elastic band. Slide the jingle bell onto ribbon until it’s in the middle of where the bow will tie.  Tie the ribbon into a bow.  Now fuss with the ribbon on the fabric sticking up from the ribbon until it looks nice and neat.

There you have it! Easy right?

Just look at these contrasting colours and fabrics.

I’m so happy with how they came out. What do you think?

Bright blessings,

Mama R
