I made this recipe for the first time last year and it was such a hit I’ve been begged to make it again this year. My festive hot chocolate is exactly what you need for the run up to Christmas while you wrap gifts and is perfect as a gift. Because of the minty flavour it feels Christmassy long after you’ve counted down on New Years.
Of course I wanted to make it even more festive this year so I’ve added teeny marshmallows which I think look great stuffed into the top of the jar.
Here’s the recipe:
1 x 400g jar of your favourite hot chocolate (plain variety)
1/2 small bag of clear hard mint sweets, crushed
100g chocolate chips (you can either use milk chocolate or experiment with dark or white chocolate)
In a bowl mix the hot chocolate, crushed mints and chocolate chips together well. Place into a decorative jar that seals well and top with mini marshmallows.
Decorate the jar with a gift tag, ribbon and a candy cane for a Christmas gift.
On the tag write:
Mix 3 teaspoon hot chocolate in a mug with hot milk or water. Stir and enjoy.
Do you make your own hot chocolate mix? What gifts are you making from your kitchen this year?
